Guinea's Morlaye Sylla Omitted from AFCON Squad Amidst Dispute with Manager Over Swapped Shirt
Guinea midfielder Morlaye Sylla finds himself excluded from the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations squad due to a rift with the team manager, stemming from a shirt exchange with Brazil's Vinicius Junior.
Scheduled to commence their AFCON campaign against Cameroon on January 15, Guinea faces a setback as Sylla's absence is confirmed, resulting from a reported altercation with both teammates and the manager following a 4-1 defeat against Brazil in June.
After the match, Sylla exchanged shirts with Vinicius Junior, only to later assert that the shirt had inexplicably disappeared from the dressing room. Despite this, Sylla has not issued an apology and now faces the consequence of missing out on the highly anticipated tournament, despite having represented his country 23 times previously.
