The Spanish international sustained the injury during Chelsea's recent defeat to Everton at Goodison Park, leading to his substitution.

Following the unfortunate incident, Cucurella underwent ankle surgery, a procedure deemed successful. However, his recovery timeline extends into February, leaving Chelsea without his defensive prowess during a crucial period.

The player himself shared glimpses of his recovery journey, including an image with a leg brace and crutches in the first snap. Another post featured Cucurella lying in bed shortly after the surgery.

With Cucurella's absence, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino may find the need to explore options in the January transfer window, especially for a left-back.
