Pochettino's Confirmation: Nkunku's Anticipated Debut for Chelsea against Sheffield
Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, has officially confirmed that Christopher Nkunku will be part of the team's upcoming squad set to encounter Sheffield United for the first time.
The Premier League fixture against Sheffield United is scheduled for this Saturday for Chelsea.
During a media interaction on Friday, Pochettino informed the press that the French striker, Nkunku, will be present in the lineup to confront Sheffield United.
Reports indicate that Nkunku has successfully resumed full training sessions, hinting at a potential participation in Saturday's match.
It's worth noting that Nkunku has been absent from the team since sustaining an injury during pre-season.
Ahead of the game, Pochettino stated, "He can be involved. That is very good news for us because being involved tomorrow and being in the squad, he can start to feel the competition, to feel the Premier League, and be with his team-mates for the first time after pre-season.
"'Now we need to be calm and quiet because we don’t want to put all the pressure on him. Now he needs to evolve, know the Premier League, know the competition. But it’s a big motivation also for us, for his team-mates and for our fans to see a player who should be important for us in."
On the other hand, Chelsea will have to cope without Reece James, Marc Cucurella, and Robert Sanchez.
These players were all forced off due to injuries suffered during the recent defeat against Everton last Sunday.
Consequently, Petrovic, who substituted goalkeeper Sanchez during the Goodison Park match, is expected to make his debut for Chelsea this upcoming weekend.
