Mauricio Pochettino, the Paris Saint-Germain manager, has shed light on the injury status of Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia in anticipation of the impending clash against Chelsea in the Premier League.

As Chelsea prepares to square off against Newcastle United in their upcoming Premier League encounter, the Blues aim to rebound from a recent disappointing defeat suffered against the same opposition.

Recent reports indicate that Christopher Nkunku participated in the initial phase of team training, but Romeo Lavia was notably absent from the session.

Addressing the media during a press conference on Friday, Pochettino refrained from confirming the definite availability of these players and others, indicating that a final decision will be made on Saturday.

"I don't believe we can expect the recovery of some players whom we initially hoped would be available," Pochettino commented during the press conference. "There is still one more training session scheduled, and we will assess the situation tomorrow to determine if some players can join the squad."

Expressing the need for further evaluation specifically regarding Lavia and Nkunku, Pochettino emphasized the importance of the upcoming day in making the final call. "They are close to a return, but we need tomorrow's assessment to reach a decision. It's possible that Lavia's situation might be more complex," Pochettino added.
