Chelsea Coach Mauricio Pochettino Calls for Reinforcements After Disappointing 2-0 Defeat Against Everton
In a setback for Chelsea, Coach Mauricio Pochettino has voiced his concern over the team's lack of a clinical edge following a 2-0 defeat to Everton in their recent Premier League encounter on Sunday evening. The Blues' unconvincing performance has seen them slide down to the lower half of the table.
Despite substantial summer spending, including signings like Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, and Christopher Nkunku amounting to £435 million ($545m), Pochettino emphasizes the need for further acquisitions in the January transfer window. The defeat to Everton has underscored Chelsea's struggle to secure points and prompted the coach to address the team's goal-scoring challenges.
Speaking to BBC MOTD, Pochettino expressed his disappointment, stating, "Football is about scoring goals, and we were not clinical in front of goal. I'm really, really disappointed. We didn't get the point we deserved. I think we were better but we didn't get what we wanted."
