Chelsea Manager Mauricio Pochettino Gives Green Light on Romeo Lavia's Fitness
The Blues Prepare to Face Wolverhampton in Premier League Showdown on Christmas Eve
Chelsea's manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has officially confirmed the fitness of Romeo Lavia for the upcoming Premier League encounter against Wolverhampton Wanderers this Christmas Eve.
After months on the sidelines, Lavia has received the green light from the Chelsea medical team, signaling his readiness to contribute to the team's success.
Pochettino, expressing optimism, stated, "Lavia is now similar to Nkunku… after nearly six months, maybe he will be involved with the team." The 19-year-old midfielder joined Chelsea on the deadline day transfer from Southampton at the beginning of the season.
Despite facing several injury setbacks, Lavia persevered and has successfully recovered, participating in first-team training. Pochettino acknowledged the potential for both Lavia and Christopher Nkunku to be fit starters in the crucial Wolves clash.
However, the manager cautioned, "He is doing well but still needs time." It is worth noting that Christopher Nkunku recently made his debut for Chelsea during their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Newcastle United in the midweek fixtures.
