Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that Reece James could be out for atleast 7-8 weeks.


The 24-year-old English defender injured with an hamstring and report suggest that he could be out for four months.

James who is the captain of Chelsea has struggled to maintain fitness since assuming the role of the captain's armband this season.

During the week, Reece James underwent surgery in Finland and is expected to being his rehabilitation in coming weeks.

Speaking about the player for the first time since the surgery, Pochettino said: “We don't know yet when he will return. The most important is to see him back here and assess day by day”.


Mauricio Pochettino expressed his concern with the hope that James will return before the end of the season.

He added, “7-8 weeks for sure. Hope, hope, that is my wish [means less than four months]”.

This weekend, Chelsea will face Wolverhampton on Christmas Eve in their Premier League encounter.
