Young Student from Sheikh Kamaldeen Arabic School Takes His Own Life

 22-year-old student identified as Alfa Musa from Sheikh Kamaldeen Arabic School in Ilorin, Kwara State, tragically committed suicide by hanging in his room at Dagbenu compound in the Ogidi area on Thursday, December 7, 2023.

The spokesperson for the state Police Command, DSP Ejire Adetoun Adeyemi, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation has been initiated. According to Adeyemi, the deceased left behind a poignant suicide note addressed to his parents. The note expressed remorse for taking such a drastic step, attributing it to perceived unanswered prayers and a desire to avoid committing sins.

On the day of the incident, a friend visited Alfa Musa's residence but discovered his room locked. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to elicit a response, the door was forcefully opened, revealing the distressing scene of the young student hanging. An empty paint container, purportedly used for the tragic act, was discovered in the room.

A neighbor, describing the deceased as a devout Muslim from Osun State, provided insights into his background. Additionally, a colleague shared a video from the funeral prayer, underscoring the somber aftermath of this unfortunate event.
