Atletico Madrid's 28-year-old striker, Angel Correa, fell victim to a gunpoint robbery orchestrated by four armed assailants at his residence near Madrid.
It was gathered that the terrifying event unfolded around 9 pm last night in the upscale municipality of Boadilla del Monte, located west of Madrid's city center.
Correa, recently back from Saudi Arabia with his team, experienced the traumatic intrusion just 48 hours after a compelling Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Real Madrid, which ended in a 5-3 defeat.
Reports indicate that the assailants, wearing masks, compelled the football star to surrender both jewelry and cash. While the identities of the other individuals present in the house remain undisclosed, it is believed to include Correa's long-term partner, Sabrina Di Marzo, 28, and their daughters Lola (seven), Luz (two), and Lia (approaching her first birthday).
Fortunately, amid the chaos, no injuries were reported. This disturbing incident sheds light on the vulnerability of even prominent figures to criminal activities, emphasizing the need for heightened security measures.
