Ghana's Disappointing AFCON 2023 Journey Under Chris Hughton
The Black Stars of Ghana faced an abrupt end in the AFCON 2023, bowing out in the group stage after a series of disappointing performances.

In the competitive Group C, Ghana suffered defeats to Cape Verde and Senegal, failing to secure qualification to the knockout stages.

Despite the possibility of a third-place finish and potential qualification as the best loser, Ghana's final game against Mozambique ended in a 2-2 draw. The Black Stars had initially taken a two-goal lead with minutes remaining, only to be pegged back by Mozambique.

Chris Hughton, the former head coach of Brighton Hove Albion, had previously steered the Black Stars to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. However, history repeated itself as Ghana exited the World Cup at the group stage once again under Hughton's guidance. The disappointment in AFCON 2023 led to the decision to part ways with Hughton as the head coach of Ghana.
