"Joining Barcelona was the best time of 2023" - Ilkay Gundogan snubs his treble winning season with Man City

Ilkay Gundogan left fans in frenzy mode when he revealed the best year of his football career. 

The Germany international posted a photo of himself exchanging handshake with Barcelona president Joan Laporte. 

The photo was taken following his move to Barcelona after he joined on a free transfer after he left Manchester City 

Recall Gundogan moved to Barcelona at the start of the season after he helped City finished last season with a treble

The Germany international played a key role for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City winning the Premier League title, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League 

Gundogan moved to Barcelona on a free transfer after his contract expired. City couldn't agreed to terms with Gundogan despite Pep Guardiola intention to keep the player 

In his post, he confirmed that joining Barcelona was one his best moment in the 2023. 

Barcelona responded to the post by Gundogan who then took a jibe at City fans claiming that it was a mistake. 

According to him, he was referring to hi times at Manchester City and not Barcelona.
