Jurgen Klopp's Reaction to Mohamed Salah's Injury in Egypt's AFCON Draw
Egypt's 2-2 Draw with Ghana and the Concerns Surrounding Salah's Injury
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has responded to the injury suffered by Mohamed Salah during Egypt's 2-2 draw with Ghana in their second group stage match at the 2023 AFCON.
In a challenging start to the tournament, the Pharaohs previously faced a 2-2 draw in their opening game against Mozambique.
However, the setback intensified as star player Salah was forced to be substituted in the 44th minute due to an injury, leaving Liverpool fans concerned.
Addressing Salah's condition, Klopp expressed, “I spoke with Mo last night. He felt it…”.
Liverpool is anxiously awaiting further updates on Salah's injury, hoping it won't jeopardize their pursuit of the Premier League title. With Salah expected to miss January fixtures due to AFCON commitments, an extended absence could impact the Reds' performance.
Despite Klopp's optimism about the injury, stating, “We all know how rarely Mo goes off, so it’s definitely something. It depends on what the diagnosis is,” the club remains vigilant about the potential impact on Salah's availability.
