The Gunners could welcome Zinchenko back from calf injury as they prepare to face Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth round.
Recall that 25-year-old defender missed Arsenal's defeat to Fulham last week in their final game of 2023.
It's been gathered that the Ukraine international has been struggling with a calf injury but Arteta is optimistic that he will recover ahead of the game.
Speaking on Friday afternoon, Mikel Arteta said that Oleksandr Zinchenko will need to undergo a fitness test. Mikel Arteta on Zinchenko’s injury, he said: “He is progressing well. We have another training session tomorrow & we will evaluate whether he is available or not to play & start the game. As for the rest, there is no actual news.”
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta confirms that Arsenal don't have any new injuries in the team.
Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber are still long term absentee in the squad at the moment.
Partey has been struggling with a groin innueu which had left him out of the Ghana team for the African Cup of Nations
The 31-year-old midfielder has been injured since last year October and report suggest that Partey is still weeks away from being back in full training.
On the other hand Jurrien Timber tore his ACL on his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest on match day 1.
The 22-year-old defender is still months away from recovery but Arteta remain keen to see play again this season
