The Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Football Federation (SAFF) announced on Wednesday, February 28th, that the 38-year-old football icon would face disciplinary action.
After the final whistle on Sunday, social media circulated videos capturing Ronaldo cupping his ear and making a repeated pumping motion in front of his pelvic area. These actions seemed directed at rival Al Shabab supporters, with chants of "Messi" in the background, referencing his long-term football rival from Argentina.
In response to the incident, the committee has ruled that Cristiano Ronaldo will serve a one-match ban. Additionally, he is required to pay a fine of 10,000 Saudi riyals ($2,666) to the Saudi Football Federation and an additional 20,000 riyals to Al Shabab to cover the costs of the complaint filing fees.
