Liverpool, gearing up for a clash with Arsenal, has Klopp puzzled over the temporary departure of Lokonga, who joined the Hatters for the 2023-24 season after a challenging stint with Mikel Arteta's side in the 2022-23 season.

Despite a peripheral role with Arsenal, Lokonga's move to Crystal Palace for the latter half of the 2022-23 campaign preceded his current successful stint with Luton. Partnering with the resurgent Ross Barkley, Lokonga has started in each of the Hatters' last eight matches, contributing two assists.

Lokonga's standout performance against Manchester United, where he made four blocks and showcased defensive prowess with an accuracy of 96% in passing, has not escaped notice. As he gears up for his ninth successive Premier League start against Liverpool on Wednesday, Klopp questions Arsenal's decision to let the talented midfielder leave on loan once again.

At the pre-game press conference, Klopp commented on Lokonga's gameplay, stating, "[Albert Sambi] Lokonga, when you see him playing, you think, 'Oh... he is an Arsenal player and they loaned him? Interesting!'" Klopp also commended Barkley for his resurgence, describing him as a player who has returned to his best, displaying super discipline and strength on the ball.

Lokonga, a 24-year-old Arsenal acquisition in 2021, has yet to register a goal or assist in 39 competitive appearances. Despite his commitment to making an impact in North London until 2026, recent reports suggest that Arsenal may consider selling him in the upcoming transfer window.
