Argentina Included Injured Lisandro Martinez for Copa America Games

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has been included in Argentina squad ahead of upcoming international games.

Argentina has made an unconventional decision by including the injured Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez in their squad for the upcoming international games in a bid to enhance their prospects at the upcoming Copa America. 

Despite still being weeks away from full recovery, the 26-year-old is set to join the Argentina squad as they gear up to play against El Salvador and Costa Rica in the USA at the end of the month.

Lisandro Martinez's Injury and Recovery

If you recall that Lisandro Martinez sustained a medial collateral ligament injury in February against West Ham, leading to an expected absence of at least eight weeks from the field. 

His rehabilitation is progressing as planned, but his anticipated return to the first team isn't until the Premier League match against Brentford on March 30 at the earliest 2.

Permission from Manchester United

Manchester United has granted permission for Martinez to join the Argentina squad to complete the final stages of his recovery. 

There's a possibility of Martinez featuring in the game against Costa Rica in Los Angeles on March 27 2.
