Manchester City midfielder Rodri has etched his name in Premier League history by breaking a record that had stood for 16 years following his team's 3-1 triumph over Manchester United.
The match saw Marcus Rashford ignite the scoreboard for United in the first half with a stunning strike from approximately 25 yards out. However, Phil Foden seized the spotlight after the break, securing a brace, while Erling Haaland added a third to seal City's crucial derby win.
This victory solidifies Rodri's remarkable achievement, as he has not experienced defeat in a club game since City's 1-0 loss to Tottenham in February 2023. Since then, he has donned the City jersey in 59 matches without succumbing to a loss, marking the longest unbeaten streak of any player in the Premier League.
Rodri's milestone surpasses the previous record held by former Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho, who enjoyed an unbeaten run of 58 games between November 2006 and February 2008.
