Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has voiced his support for former UFC world champion Francis Ngannou, tipping him to triumph over Anthony Joshua in their upcoming fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Ngannou, a devoted Manchester United fan, demonstrated his allegiance by attending the team's tour game in Las Vegas against Borussia Dortmund last summer. Interestingly, Ngannou shares his Cameroonian heritage with Onana, adding a personal connection to the anticipated clash.
In an interview with Man United TV, Onana emphasized Ngannou's formidable prowess, expressing his belief that the UFC champion possesses the firepower to bring down the British boxer. Onana conveyed his hope for Ngannou's victory, stating, "I have a good friend of mine, Francis Ngannou. He is a world champion. He and Anthony Joshua will fight in Riyadh. I hope Ngannou will win."
Acknowledging Joshua's strength, Onana maintained a neutral perspective, highlighting the unpredictability of the sport. He emphasized the enjoyment of the event, stating, "Anthony is a strong one as well, but, on another day, you just have to enjoy it. The best is going to win, and we are going to support all of them."
Onana also reminisced about meeting Ngannou in Las Vegas, underscoring the camaraderie and shared excitement for his move to Manchester United. The goalkeeper sees Ngannou's support for the club as an additional layer to their connection, making the upcoming fight a significant and thrilling event for both athletes and fans alike.
