Arsenal's Fight for Premier League Supremacy

Arsenal showcased their determination in the Premier League title race by securing a hard-fought draw against Manchester City today.

Odegaard's Admiration for Defensive Display

Martin Odegaard, Arsenal's midfielder, expressed satisfaction not only with the overall team performance but also with the defensive solidity, particularly singling out French defender Saliba for praise.

“Any team in the world would miss this guy. You see the quality he has on and off the ball, so I am glad he is fit now. Brilliant player and brilliant performance again today,” Odegaard remarked.

William Saliba earned accolades as the man of the match for his stellar defensive contribution, notably keeping Manchester City's Erling Haaland at bay throughout the game.

Odegaard's Mixed Feelings

Despite the positive result, Odegaard expressed a tinge of disappointment during his post-match interview. He acknowledged Arsenal's defensive resilience but admitted the need for improvement in ball retention and attacking prowess.

“We had to defend a lot, a lot more than we planned to. We were dangerous in certain moments when we had the counters, but it is hard to keep the ball and build when you have defended for so long. Your legs are heavy. In the moments we managed to take the ball and get forward we looked dangerous and could have even won it at the end,” Odegaard reflected.
