Germany's national team coach, Julian Nagelsmann, has made a significant decision by recalling Toni Kroos to the squad ahead of upcoming international friendlies.
In a surprising move, the Germany Football Association has unveiled the squad for the forthcoming matches against France and the Netherlands, revealing the return of Toni Kroos.
The 34-year-old midfielder, who plays for Real Madrid, is making a comeback to the national team after an absence of nearly three years. This decision comes after Kroos publicly announced his intention to end his international retirement just last month.
Following Germany's exit from the postponed Euro 2020 tournament, Kroos had opted to make himself unavailable for selection. However, after discussions with the newly appointed coach, Julian Nagelsmann, Kroos has reversed his decision.
Nagelsmann, the former Bayern Munich manager who assumed the helm of the national team in September, has opted to include Kroos in the 26-man squad for the upcoming friendlies against France and the Netherlands.
With 106 international caps to his name and having lifted the World Cup trophy in 2014, Kroos's return signals his potential inclusion in Germany's squad for the upcoming European Championship this summer.
