White's Stellar Season Overshadows Brighton Antics
Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker have acknowledged Arsenal defender Ben White's exceptional season, despite criticizing his behavior during the match against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Gunners reclaimed the top spot in the Premier League table following their convincing 3-0 victory over Brighton. Last weekend, Mikel Arteta's side secured a win at the Amex Stadium with goals from Bukayo Saka's penalty, Kai Havertz, and Trossard.
During the match, White attracted attention when he dramatically fell to the ground and clutched his throat. However, after a VAR review, the incident was deemed inconsequential. Despite Shearer and Lineker expressing displeasure over White's actions, they both acknowledged his outstanding performance throughout the season.
Lineker stated, "He is a good player, though. He is having a really good season," with Shearer adding, "He is having a great season." Micah Richards also chimed in, expressing his admiration: "Oh, He's class. Class player. I'm so happy for him."
Arsenal's strong defensive record has been instrumental in their pursuit of the league title, having conceded only 24 goals thus far. White has been a consistent and standout performer in their defensive line.
Despite lacking a clinical number 9, Arsenal has managed to score the most league goals (75) in the ongoing campaign, with contributions from various players across the pitch.
