Cross-dresser Bobrisky arraigned by EFCC, pleads guilty to Naira abuse charges.
Popular cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, famously known as Bobrisky, faced arraignment at the Federal High Court in Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Bobrisky admitted guilt to the initial four counts of Naira abuse when the charges were presented.
EFCC's counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, requested the dismissal of counts five and six related to money laundering; the court complied.
When questioned about his understanding of the charges, Bobrisky affirmed his guilt, expressing remorse.
During his allocutus, Bobrisky claimed ignorance of the law regarding Naira abuse, seeking a chance to use his platform for educating his followers on proper money handling.
However, the judge emphasized that ignorance of the law was not an excuse, despite Bobrisky's plea for a second chance to educate his audience through a video on his platform, expressing regret for his actions.
