Jurgen Klopp Provides Update on Diogo Jota's Injury

Jürgen Klopp has provided insights into Diogo Jota's injury, indicating that the Portuguese forward will be sidelined for approximately two weeks following an injury sustained during the Fulham match.

 Injury Occurrence and Assessment

During Sunday's Premier League clash, Jota contributed significantly to Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Fulham, scoring the third goal. However, subsequent assessment revealed an underlying fitness issue that necessitates his absence from the team in the short term.

Klopp's Comments

Addressing reporters at his pre-Everton press conference, Klopp expressed regret over Jota's injury setback. He explained that although Jota initially felt discomfort after scoring, further examination revealed a more serious issue. Klopp emphasized that apart from Jota's injury, there are no other new concerns within the squad.

Nature of the Injury

Klopp provided details on the nature of Jota's injury, highlighting its relatively minor nature. He mentioned that the injury stemmed from a previous knock, which Jota sustained before a game where he didn't start. Klopp stated, "It’s a small one but we are late in the season, so obviously now it’s not a great moment for each injury pretty much." Despite initially appearing to recover, Jota's participation in the last game exacerbated the issue.

While Klopp clarified that Jota's injury is not significant, he confirmed that the forward will be unavailable for approximately two weeks. He acknowledged the inconvenience of losing a player at this stage of the season but reassured that the absence is relatively short-term.
