Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez recently shared a photo from his hospital bed following a successful surgery. The surgery was necessitated by a groin issue that had been causing him discomfort for several months, with the pain intensifying in recent weeks.

Months of Discomfort Lead to Surgery

In a post on his Instagram account, Fernandez revealed that the problem had been bothering him for around six months. Despite attempting to manage the pain with injections and medications, the discomfort persisted. He explained, "I needed to get this surgery since I've been dragging the pain for about six months."

Surgery and Recovery Timeline

Chelsea confirmed in a statement that Fernandez underwent the operation to address the groin issue. As a result, he will be sidelined for the remainder of the Premier League campaign, missing approximately six games. However, the surgery was successful, and Fernandez is expected to begin his recovery immediately.

Determination Despite Challenges

Despite the persistent pain, Fernandez remained determined to continue playing. He mentioned, "Whenever I got to play with the Chelsea jersey, like the national team, I always try to do my best despite all this." However, as the pain worsened and conventional treatments proved ineffective, he realized the necessity of surgery.

 Looking Ahead

Fernandez is expected to be out of action for approximately three weeks as he recuperates from the surgery. This timeline suggests that he will be available to join up with Lionel Scaloni's squad for the Copa America this summer. Fernandez expressed his optimism about returning stronger, stating, "I will be back soon and stronger!"

By undergoing the necessary surgery, Enzo Fernandez aims to overcome his injury and return to the pitch in peak condition, ready to contribute to both Chelsea and the Argentine national team.
