In the lead-up to Liverpool's clash at Goodison Park, Alexander-Arnold raised doubts about Arsenal's mindset, attributing their defeat to Aston Villa on April 14 to what he perceived as 'overthinking'.

Despite dominating play for significant periods, Arsenal suffered an unexpected 2-0 defeat against Villa at the Emirates, coinciding closely with Liverpool's own defeat to Crystal Palace.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Alexander-Arnold reflected, "If those fixtures were reversed and we played second and Arsenal played first maybe it would’ve been a different mentality. It all comes down to mentality." He further elaborated, suggesting, "Maybe they overthought things whereas if us and City both won it made them think, ‘we need to just win’ rather than it being a chance to breakaway from the pack. None of us have been in a three-horse race, so it’s difficult."

As Liverpool seeks to regain momentum, they anticipate a pivotal Premier League encounter against West Ham this weekend.

With Saturday's early kick-off looming, Liverpool prepares to face a struggling West Ham managed by David Moyes. A victory in this fixture could significantly narrow the gap between Liverpool and front-runners Arsenal and Manchester City.
