Mikel Arteta has addressed the swirling rumours suggesting Arsenal's intent to sell Gabriel Jesus in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old striker, having fallen down the pecking order in recent months, has become the subject of transfer speculation.
In the latter half of the season, Arteta has favored Kai Havertz to lead the attack, with the German notching up an impressive 13 goals in the Premier League.
Contrastingly, Gabriel Jesus has managed to score only 4 goals in 24 matches thus far in the 2023/2024 Premier League season.
Clarifying the situation to the media on Friday, Arteta dispelled the rumours surrounding the Brazilian's departure, stating, "I don’t know where reports about Gabriel Jesus exit are coming from.”
It's worth recalling that Jesus made the move to Arsenal from Manchester City last season for a fee in the region of £45 million, though his campaign was hampered by a severe knee injury.
Arteta emphasized Jesus's importance to his plans, asserting, “We have NO intention of letting Gabriel leave.”
