Daniel Sturridge caused a stir among fans during his analysis of the Brighton vs Aston Villa game for Sky Sports.
Despite his role as a commentator, much of the attention on social media centered around his unconventional attire, consisting of sunglasses and a tank top.
"Some were less convinced by his choice of attire," as one user wrote: 'I can’t take Sky Sports seriously with Sturridge dressed like this.' Another user humorously likened his outfit to that of a cricket player, commenting: 'Sturridge rocking the Test Match Chic. Looking cool whilst standing in the Outfield all day.'
Criticism was also directed towards Sturridge's choice to wear sunglasses indoors, with one user questioning his seriousness. Another user, however, seemed to appreciate the look, stating: 'You see Daniel Sturridge? He is a G shades and all on Sky Sports.'
In the end, Brighton secured a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa, with Joao Pedro scoring the winning goal in the 87th minute. While the focus should have been on the match itself, Sturridge's outfit managed to steal some of the spotlight.
