National Medical Services Laboratories Refutes Claims of Conducting Toxicology Test on Late Singer Mohbad
The management of National Medical Services Laboratories (NMS Labs) in Pennsylvania, United States, has categorically denied claims made by the Lagos State Government that a toxicology test was conducted at their facility to determine the cause of death of Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
This denial comes after a fact-finding investigation by Punch Newspaper, which sought to verify the claims made by the state government. The laboratory's Client Services Associate, Forensics Division, Esther Dede, stated unequivocally that no such test was conducted on Mohbad's samples at any of their laboratories.
The controversy surrounding Mohbad's death has been ongoing since his passing, with the Lagos State Government claiming that a toxicology test was conducted at NMS Labs as part of an autopsy process. However, this claim has now been refuted by the laboratory itself, casting doubt on the state government's assertions.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, had previously stated that the test was conducted at NMS Labs, which is one of three affiliate centers of the state DNA and Forensic Centre. However, when contacted for clarification, Omotoso stated that he was relying on information provided by the state DNA and Forensic Centre officials and would need to verify the information again.
The denial by NMS Labs raises further questions about the circumstances surrounding Mohbad's death and the investigations conducted by the state government. The public is eagerly awaiting clarity on this matter, and it is hoped that the truth will be revealed in due course.
