England Manager Gareth Southgate Admits Experimentation in Replacing Kalvin Phillips
England's national football team manager, Gareth Southgate, has revealed that the squad is experimenting with different players to fill the void left by Kalvin Phillips. This comes after the team's 1-1 draw with Denmark in their latest Euro 2024 match.
When asked about Trent Alexander-Arnold's performance, Southgate stated, "Alexander-Arnold? He's had some moments where he's delivered what we thought he would. We know it's an experiment."
The manager also acknowledged the challenge of replacing Phillips, saying, "We know we don't have a natural replacement for Kalvin Philips. We're trying different things."
The match saw England's captain, Harry Kane, score a goal in the 18th minute, with Denmark equalizing in the 34th minute through Morten Hjulmand's strike. The result leaves England with four points in the tournament, but Southgate is aware of the need for improvement as the team aims to advance to the round of 16.
