The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) took to social media to praise the heartwarming moment between national team captain Luka Modric and Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo after their international friendly match on Friday night, June 7th, 2024. Despite Croatia's 2-1 victory over Portugal, the former Real Madrid teammates put aside their competitive spirits and shared a warm embrace outside the stadium.
However, the real highlight came after the final whistle, as Modric and Ronaldo reunited, exchanging hugs and quality time.
The Croatian Football Federation tweeted a photo of the moment, captioning it: "One kajkajillionophies, awards and legendary performances among these two. @lukamodric10 @Cristiano"
During their time at Real Madrid, Modric and Ronaldo played together in 436 games, winning numerous titles, including four Champions League trophies (2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018). Their on-field success and off-field friendship have made them one of the most iconic duos in football history.
