Antonio Conte, the seasoned football manager, was spotted in Rome today alongside Napoli's director, Manna, fueling speculation about his potential appointment as the club's new manager.
Renowned sports journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Napoli is set to announce Conte as their new head coach later this week.
Conte, who previously helmed Tottenham Hotspur, has been on a year-long sabbatical but appears to be ready to return to the dugout. Napoli is expected to formalize the deal, which will see Conte commit to a two-year contract, as early as Wednesday.
Conte's last managerial stint was with Tottenham Hotspur, where he served from November 2021 to March 2023. Prior to that, he had successful spells with Inter Milan, Chelsea, and Juventus, among others.
Napoli had initially appointed Rudi Garcia to lead the team, but his tenure was cut short due to a disappointing run of results. Walter Mazzarri was then brought in as his replacement, but his stint was also brief, ending just two days before the team's UEFA Champions League last-16 clash with Barcelona.
