D'banj provided financial support and encouraged her to write another "Jenifa" series, leading to the creation of "The Return of Jenifa."
Akindele expressed her gratitude, stating, "He gave me some money and said, 'Go and write another Jenifa, I support you with this money.' I was like, 'Really? No strings attached?' He said, 'No.'" The revitalized brand has remained relevant, with Akindele announcing a new project, "Everybody Loves Jenifa," scheduled for release in Christmas 2024.
