Harry Maguire Expresses Devastation at Missing Out on England's Euro Squad
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has shared his disappointment at not being selected for England's Euro 2024 squad due to a calf injury. Despite his best efforts to recover in time, Maguire regretfully acknowledged that he may have pushed himself too hard, leading to his omission from the team.
In a statement, Maguire said: "I am devastated not to have been selected to play for England at the Euros this summer. Despite my best efforts, I have not been able to overcome an injury to my calf. Maybe I pushed myself too hard, to try and make it. Simply, I am absolutely gutted."
Maguire, who has been an integral part of the England national team, added: "For me, representing England is the highest honour. It means everything to me. If I can't help the team as a player, I will support them as a fan – along with the rest of the country. Go and win it boys."
The defender will now focus on his rehabilitation, stating: "Next, I will return to the supervision of the #mufc medical team in order to prepare for next season."
Throughout his career, Maguire has made 63 appearances for England, scoring 7 goals. His dedication and commitment to the team have made him a fan favourite.
