Hotel Closed for Corrupting Minors, Hisbah Board Enforces Strict Regulations

The Katsina State Hisbah Board has ordered the immediate closure of New Palace Hotel effective June 13, 2024. This decision comes after the hotel was found to have violated the Board's laws by accommodating underage girls on two separate occasions.

The Board's statement revealed that during a recent inspection, two underage girls were discovered in the same room, contravening the Board's regulations. Despite previous warnings and commitments from the hotel management to prevent such incidents, the hotel failed to comply.

The hotel's management had previously agreed to not accommodate underage children during a collaborative meeting with other hotel managers in Katsina State. However, the hotel's failure to uphold this agreement has resulted in severe penalties, including its closure.

The Katsina State Hisbah Board remains committed to enforcing reforms and discipline that align with the state's religious and cultural values. The Board seeks to ensure lasting peace through its efforts, and the closure of New Palace Hotel serves as a testament to its dedication to upholding the law.
