French superstar Kylian Mbappe suffered a broken nose during France's Euro 2024 opening match against Austria on Monday night at Dusseldorf Arena.
If you recall that the collision occurred when Mbappe's face struck Austrian defender Kevin Danso's shoulder in an aerial duel, forcing the French forward to be substituted.
Despite the setback, France secured a 1-0 victory over Austria, courtesy of an own goal by Max Wober, who inadvertently headed the ball into his own net following a cross from Mbappe.
Mbappe's injury has raised concerns about his participation in the remainder of the tournament. However, the 25-year-old has been cleared to continue playing and will wear a protective mask to safeguard his injury.
France's next Group D fixtures are against the Netherlands on June 21 and Poland on June 25. Mbappe's presence in the team is crucial for France's chances of advancing to the knockout stages, and his ability to play through the injury will be a significant boost to Les Bleus.
With his protective mask in place, Mbappe is ready to lead France's charge towards Euro 2024 glory, starting with the highly anticipated match against the Netherlands.
