Luke Shaw Opens Up on Injury Regrets: 'I Shouldn't Have Played'

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has spoken candidly about his recent injury, acknowledging a shared responsibility for the setback.

"It's kind of everyone's fault. Partly my fault, partly medical staff, I think everyone would admit that," Shaw said in a reflective tone.

The England international sustained the injury during the Premier League match against Aston Villa, where he was substituted at halftime. "I felt something against Aston Villa and came off at half-time," Shaw recalled.

Despite initial concerns, the subsequent scan revealed minimal damage, leading Shaw to participate in training the day before the next match. However, he has since regretted that decision.

"If the manager asks me to play, I'm never going to say no…," Shaw admitted. "I shouldn't have played."

Shaw's injury has significant implications for both Manchester United and the English national team. He has made 11 appearances for Manchester United in the 2023-24 season and was included in England's squad for the 2024 Euros.
