French football club Olympique Marseille has extended a formal contract offer to Roberto De Zerbi, a seasoned and accomplished manager, to lead the team. Negotiations are currently in progress to finalize the agreement.
De Zerbi previously helmed Brighton & Hove Albion, taking the reins in September 2022, following Graham Potter's departure.
During his tenure, the team achieved notable successes, including a sixth-place finish in the 2022/23 Premier League season and a historic qualification for European competition.
In the 2023/24 season, Brighton secured top spot in their Europa League group, defeating esteemed clubs like Ajax and Marseille.
However, their league performance was impacted by their European campaign, concluding the season in 11th place. De Zerbi and Brighton parted ways by mutual consent at the end of the 2023/24 season.
If negotiations with Olympique Marseille prove fruitful, Roberto De Zerbi will succeed Jean-Louis Gasset as the club's new manager. This development marks a significant turn of events, as Marseille had initially been in talks with Sergio Conceicao.
De Zerbi's potential appointment at Marseille would signify a new chapter for the Ligue 1 club, leveraging his tactical expertise to enhance the team's performance and drive future success.
