Singer Portable Continues to Call Out Davido Over Unfulfilled Collaboration
Controversy is brewing in the Nigerian music industry as singer Portable has publicly accused his colleague, Davido, of exploiting him. In a viral live video, Portable expressed his disappointment and frustration, stating, "Davido ripped me, you invited me out for a dinner in America but you didn’t give me a verse or money, you just used me to trend. You should have given me at least $10,000.”
The issue between the two singers dates back to 2022 when Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, rose to fame with his hit single "Zazoo." Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, reached out to Portable for a collaboration, which Portable believed would be a career-defining opportunity.
However, according to Portable, the collaboration never materialized, despite attending a dinner meeting with Davido in the United States. Portable feels exploited, claiming that Davido only used him to generate buzz without providing any tangible support or compensation.
