Former Italy legend Fabio Cannavaro has announced his departure from Udinese Calcio via social media, revealing that the club's owner, Gianpaolo Pozzo, has decided to terminate their relationship.
Cannavaro, who was appointed as Udinese's head coach on December 7, 2022, managed the team for 17 games, with a record of 5 wins, 5 draws, and 7 losses.
In a statement posted on his Instagram account, Cannavaro wrote: "Pozzo has informed me that he wants to break off the relationship. I want to thank the players, the staff, and the fans for their support during my time at Udinese."
During his tenure, Cannavaro's team showed promising signs, including a 1-1 draw against Juventus and a 2-1 win over Sassuolo. However, inconsistent results led to the club's decision to part ways with the former defender.
Cannavaro's appointment as Udinese coach was met with excitement, given his impressive playing career and coaching experience in China. However, his stint in Udine has come to an abrupt end, leaving the club to search for a new manager to take the reins.
