Vanessa Okoye, the daughter of renowned talent manager Paulo Okoye, has publicly addressed the recent disparaging comments made by social media activist Very Dark Man (VDM) towards her father.
The controversy stemmed from VDM's claims that Iyabo, Paulo's girlfriend, was not invited to Davido's main wedding ceremony, but rather only the after-party, accompanied by mocking remarks about her perceived social status.
Paulo Okoye responded by expressing sympathy for VDM's situation, suggesting that he may be under some sort of curse.
However, VDM retaliated, telling Paulo to stay out of his issue with Iyabo, which led Paulo to demand that Davido and others choose between them.
In a statement posted on her Instagram story, Vanessa Okoye addressed the situation, emphasizing that her family's silence should not be misinterpreted as ignorance.
Instead, she explained that they are focused on building a legacy of integrity and excellence, and will not be distracted by petty remarks from individuals like VDM.
She stated, "Those who disrespect my father mistake our silence for ignorance. We're focused on forging a legacy of integrity and excellence, not in addressing petty remarks from those lacking vision and respect. It's the audacity for me." Vanessa's words convey a sense of pride and dedication to her family's values, making it clear that they will not be swayed by disrespectful comments.
