Mikel Arteta has disclosed that Emile Smith-Rowe is on the verge of transferring to Fulham this summer. 
The English midfielder has been speculated to leave Arsenal during the current transfer window after losing his place in the team's hierarchy.
Smith-Rowe was absent from Arsenal's preseason friendly against Manchester United, as he is anticipated to finalize his move to Fulham next week. In the friendly match held in the USA, Arsenal emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Manchester United.
Sports writer Fabrizio Romano reported on his Twitter timeline that the "final details are being sorted out before completing the transfer, with talks at advanced stages."
"Things are happening in the background, yes," Mikel Arteta confirmed after the match.
In the meantime, Arsenal has already secured the signing of Ricardo Calafiori from Bologna. The 22-year-old defender arrived in London over the weekend to undergo his medical examination, pending an official announcement. The Italian defender is expected to join the team in the USA during their tour in the coming days.
