French football club, RC Strasbourg, has announced the departure of Patrick Vieira from his position as head coach, effective immediately.
It was learnt that the decision was made by mutual consent between Vieira and the club.
If you recall that Vieira, a former Arsenal legend and Crystal Palace manager, joined Strasbourg in July 2023, signing a three-year contract. During his tenure, the team finished 13th in Ligue 1 last season.
Meanwhile Strasbourg's President, Marc Keller, expressed his gratitude to Vieira for his contributions to the club and wished him success in his future endeavors. "We thank Patrick for his work and dedication to the team during his time with us," said Keller. "We wish him all the best in his future pursuits."
Vieira's departure has sparked speculation about his potential candidacy for the recently vacated United States Men's National Team (USMNT) head coaching position. While no official announcement has been made, Vieira is rumored to be a leading contender for the role.
