Barcelona president Joan Laporta publicly expresses interest in signing Athletic Bilbao's talented young winger Nico Williams, sparking transfer speculation.

In an interview with Catalunya Radio, Barcelona president Joan Laporta revealed his admiration for Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams, stating, "I like Nico, a lot. I can say that financially we can make it happen."

Barcelona president Laporta's comments suggest that Barcelona has the financial capabilities to secure the signing of the talented young player. He attributed the club's financial stability to the hard work done over the years, saying, "It's the result of work that has been done over all these years to reach this point. We could, of course, face a signing of this level."

Nico Williams has started every game for Spain in their on going campaign at the 2024 Euro.


Nico Williams, a 20-year-old winger, has impressed in his appearances for both Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish national team. He has scored 3 goals in 11 games for Spain's U-21 team and made his senior debut in a UEFA Nations League match against Switzerland in June.
