Drake Loses Big on $300,000 Bet as Canada Falls to Argentina in Copa America Semis

Canadian rapper Drake's foray into the world of sports betting took a turn for the worse recently.

In a bold move, he placed a cool $300,000 wager on his home turf, Canada, to pull off a major upset against Argentina in the 2024 Copa America semifinals. 

The odds, however, were decidedly not in Canada's favor. Argentina fielded a powerhouse lineup, with the legendary Lionel Messi spearheading their attack. This reality played out on the pitch, as Argentina controlled the tempo of the match, generating a plethora of scoring chances. 

While Canada displayed commendable fighting spirit, they were ultimately outclassed by their South American counterparts. The final whistle confirmed Argentina's dominance with a decisive 2-0 victory. The goal scorers for Argentina were Julián Álvarez in the first half and Lionel Messi himself shortly after the break.
