AC Milan is on the cusp of bolstering their attacking firepower with the anticipated arrival of Álvaro Morata.
The 31-year-old Spanish striker has reportedly reached a verbal agreement on a four-year deal with the Rossoneri, bringing an end to his time at Atlético Madrid after a two-year stint.
Morata's journey to Milan is paved with both club and international experiences. In January 2019, he joined Atlético Madrid on an 18-month loan deal from Chelsea, a move that was eventually made permanent. While his stint with Los Colchoneros yielded a respectable 32 goals in 64 appearances across all competitions, his consistency in front of goal was a topic of debate amongst fans.
However, his struggles at club level didn't translate to the international stage. Morata remained a vital cog for Spain, playing a key role in their triumphant Euro 2024 campaign. He significantly contributed with 3 goals in 6 appearances, including a crucial strike in the semi-final that propelled Spain towards European glory.
AC Milan is prepared to activate Morata's €13 million release clause to secure his services. Fresh off his European Championship victory, the experienced forward adds a major international honor to his already impressive resume.
