Rivers United, a prominent Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) club, has officially unveiled Finidi George as their new head coach.
The 54-year-old coach will take the reins at the Nigerian club, following his recent departure from his role as coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Finidi's appointment comes on the heels of a disappointing run of games by the Nigerian national team, which included a 1-1 draw against South Africa and a 2-1 loss to Benin Republic in the World Cup qualifiers last month.
As a player, Finidi had a distinguished career, featuring for clubs like Ajax, Real Betis, and Ipswich Town. He also made 62 appearances for the Nigerian national team, scoring six goals.
