During the operation, which occurred over the weekend under the leadership of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Adetayo Akerele, at least 124 suspects were apprehended. These individuals were reportedly involved in transforming the vicinity into hubs for the sale of hard drugs and alcohol, resulting in significant environmental hazards.

CSP Akerele stated, "The criminal activities occurring in the Aminkanle Area of Agbado, along Jobi Fele Road by the African Shrine, and NerdC Street, particularly during nighttime, pose serious risks to public safety and well-being. This cleanup operation is essential for preserving environmental quality, ensuring safety, and upholding the standards of Lagos State as a Mega City."

He further emphasized that the indiscriminate sale of various drugs and the resultant traffic congestion on nearby roads—particularly affecting commuters returning home after a long workday—are detrimental to the community. Akerele assured that efforts would be made to completely eradicate these issues.
