Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding Julián Álvarez's future with the club. 
The Argentine forward has become a subject of interest for Atlético Madrid, which has led to speculation about his potential departure from the Premier League champions.
Álvarez has indicated that he will make a definitive decision about his future after representing Argentina in the Olympics. Guardiola acknowledged this development, saying, “I knew that he [Álvarez] said that he is going to think about it. When he finishes thinking about it, his agent is going to call [City football director] Txiki [Begiristain] and we are going to see what happens.”
Guardiola also addressed the competitive environment within the City squad, emphasizing the challenges of securing playing time. “I know he wants to play in important moments but the others [do] too. I have 18 or 19 players that want to play important games. He played a lot but if he wants more, it’s fine. When he thinks about it he’ll inform us,” Guardiola remarked.
Álvarez, who joined Manchester City from River Plate in 2022, has shown significant promise but faces stiff competition in City's star-studded lineup. His decision could impact the club's planning as they prepare for the upcoming season and continue their pursuit of domestic and European honors.
