Influencer Sir Jarus Charged to Court for Domestic Violence
The Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has announced that popular influencer, Sir Jarus, has been charged to court for assaulting his wife. This development comes after the agency confirmed his arrest and detention on July 3.
According to the DSVA, Sir Jarus was arraigned before the Ogba Magistrate Court 5 on two counts: assault against his wife and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
The agency stated, "Surajudeen Oyetunji Oyewole (@SirJarus) has been charged to Court, (Court 5, Ogba Magistrate Court) on Two Counts. "Count l: Assault against his wife. "Count ll: Conduct Likely to Cause Breach of Peace."
This development follows Sir Jarus' admission to physically assaulting his wife after she objected to his decision to take a second wife, citing his Islamic rights. The case has sparked widespread outrage and calls for accountability.
