Renato Veiga emphasizes the importance of patience amidst their challenging start to pre-season, with a 4-1 loss to Celtic on Saturday causing concern among some supporters.
Veiga, 20, is among a few young players who are uncertain about their potential loan departures. Manager Enzo Maresca aims to utilize this tour of the United States to assess which junior players are capable of integrating into his first-team squad.
"In every football game you want to win," Veiga said. "Chelsea especially has to win every game. But we are in pre-season. The most important thing is the process, the connection between each other. When the time comes (to play the first Premier League game versus Manchester City) on August 18, that is when it counts and when we have to win for sure."
